Note that our programming and many components are always available for free download but some are only available on The Online Bible DVD.  After downloading a module from our download section to your hard drive, simply double click the downloaded file to make it self install.

We have added so much new material that the Online Bible is now published on DVD. We still have the 2007 version available as a 2 CD set if you do not have a DVD drive.

The DVD contains more than 30 English Bible versions including the New King James Version, The Message, The Holman Christian Standard Version, God's Word to the Nations and The English Standard Version that are ready to use.

In addition to all  the material that is ready to use on the DVD there are several versions that require royalty payment to unlock, noteably NIV, NAS, NRSV, NLT, and the Amplified Bible.  The Alexander Scourby narration of the King James Version is included on the DVD but requires a royalty payment to unlock.

Also included are 10 ancient language texts (Greek, Hebrew, Latin and Syriac), 3 sets of Greek and Hebrew Lexicons, 20 Dictionaries, 45 commentaries and more than 300 Devotional, Theological, Historical and Creationist books and a set of Bible maps. Click here for a full list of the English material

The DVD also contains material in 35 other languages.  More than 400 Books, Bible versions, Commentaries,  Maps and Lexicons are included. Click here for a list of material in other languages

All  new releases of the Online Bible programming will give you the ability to copy the Online Bible for Pocket PC program as well as the Authorised Version (KJV) Bible, Easton's Dictionary, TSK, Greek and Hebrew Lexicons. This includes all the basic material required to give you a very useable Bible study program on your Pocket PC at no cost. Click here for more details. Windows Pocket PC Online Bible

        Vista and the Online Bible

First thing under Vista is to make sure it is up to date. Service Pack 1 came out in April, 2008 which fixed just about all the problems people have reported. Got to the Start Menu - All Programs and click on Windows Update to update Vista and all Microsoft software on your computer.

I  want to remove the Online Bible Program using "Remove Programs". Vista will not remove it.

  1. Open Control Panel and click on "User Accounts and Family Safety".
  2. Click on "User Accounts".
  3. Click on "Turn User Account Control on or off".
  4. Uncheck "User Account Control". Close the dialog box.
  5. You will be prompted to restart Windows. After restarting you will be able to remove the Online Bible program.

When I attempt to run the Online Bible in Vista I am getting the error message "Online Bible 32 Bit Version has stopped working."

  1. Open Windows Explorer.
  2. Location the application executable (Program Files\Bible\Olb.exe).
  3. Right click the executable and click the Properties option.
  4. Select the Compatibility tab.
  5. Select the Run This Program in Compatibility Mode option.
  6. From the drop-down list, choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)".
  7. If necessary, select the option to run the program as an administration.
  8. Click OK.

Vista has introduced numerous security improvements. The Limited User accounts under XP were so "limited" they were useless. Not so with the "Standard Accounts" of Vista. Microsoft got it right this time and every user should use them. To run  your Vista system securly you should create a Standard User account, password protect both it and the Administrator account. Use the Standard account to do everything including installing new software. You should very rarely have to log out of your Standard account to login to the Administrator Account.  If a virus gets into a Standard Account, it can only look at your system files and programs files but cannot change or delete them. However, if you run everything in the Administator Account your system is wide open to virus attack. The standard firewall that comes with Vista is more than adequate you do not need to buy a third party firewall. AVG from http://free.avg.com is a free virus checker that works well with Vista. We do not recommend Norton or Mcafee. These unnecessarily interfere with the normal operation of programs.

The Online Bible has been tested on both the 32 and 64 bit versions of Vista and runs quite well.

VISTA has also left off a file needed to run the Audio Bible. This is included on our current Online Bible package but can also be downloaded here.

The Online Bible has special links for use with Song Show Plus and the Audio Bible.

Part of our mission over the years has been to support full time overseas missionaries with low cost copies of the Online Bible (sorry but we don't have the resources to include North American workers). Missionaries may receive a copy of The Online Bible DVD at a cost of $10 US including shipping anywhere. When  on line, you can go to our missionary page to place an order but be sure to mention your mission organization and in what field you are serving in the comment window.

The Online Bible has been designed to function with leading screen readers for the visually impaired.

Although almost all the material on this page is unlocked and ready to use on the DVD, a few modules have a royalty that must be paid in order to access them.  We have made some of these available to download but they will remain locked on your computer until you go to the secure order site through the link at the top of this page to pay the royalty and receive an unlock code.

If you are downloading a locked version, you must also have the program.  Please read the instructions in the Locked Bible Version section of this page.

There is no obligation to register or pay for any of this material other than the royalty versions.  If you wish to update your Online Bible, or try the program for the first time, please feel free to download from this page. You will need at least the program and a Scripture module.

For easy setup, we recommend that you first download and install the Starter Pack which will give you the basic program. You must have this on your computer to install further modules.

After downloading a new module to your hard drive double click the new download to cause it to self-install.
